Le Normandie - French Restaurant on BuMRes.com

After seeing a positive review on the Pantip website in addition to the general information on the official website of the Hotel, I felt that I have to try the Le Normandie.  The restaurant is advertising themselves to be the best French restaurant in Southeast Asia.  Many reviews in Pantip were cheering to go to this fine French restaurant.  Le Normandie is located on the fifth floor of the Mandarin Oriental.  Luxurious interior decoration and the view of the Chao Phraya River both made up to a splendid atmosphere.  The restaurant size is small with only about 10 tables to host the high status customers.

Since I wouldn’t go for the a la carte menu at lunch time due to the high price (there is a set dinner 2,400 baht – still quite expensive), I decided to choose the 1,000++ lunch set.  I made a reservation two weeks ahead to get the table for lunch on Saturday.  Service staffs of Le Normandie were incredible.  I can say that it was the best restaurant service I have ever experienced.  I definitely give them a full 100 points.  For more details of the food, please see the caption below photos.  We had a total of three sets, so nine different items.  Overall taste was delicious but it didn’t get me excited because I usually don’t like French cuisine in general.  My dad and my brother loved the food very much.

The bill totaled to about 4,000 baht.  We had two bottles of the mineral water for 300++ baht each.  Overall, the exclusive lunching experience with my family at the Le Normandie was greatly enjoyable.  Its classy atmosphere and the service truly captured my heart.  The Le Normandie is well deserved to be the official French restaurant of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel – the number one for luxurious accommodation of Thailand.
