Shun No mai - Japanese Buffet Restaurant on BuMRes.com
If I were to look for a Japanese Buffet where servers bring the food to you, I always think of the Japanese restaurants in luxurious hotels. I can’t think of any premium Japanese buffet as a standalone at all. There is one I know is the Zen Cuciana at the Central World, where the price is more than affordable – 9000 baht per head (A Godsend Japanese buffet). But now, we have the Shun No Mai at Thonglor soi 10 or the Opus tower. This building has a few great restaurants; Stamina- En and Bangkok Burger Company. The latter one I haven’t tried. I heard that they claim themselves to be first to serve gourmet burgers in Thailand. At the Opus Tower, there is also a chocolate shop – I can’t remember and I haven’t gone there.
Now let’s start reviewing the Shun NO Mai @ Thonglor 10, Bangkok. This place has a lunch set menu that includes the line buffet of salad and simple side dishes. And at dinner time, Shun No Mai serves a la carte buffet with a few extra a la carte dishes not included in the buffet. Please find more details of the menu in the tab menu as usual. Like the lunch time, the salad and side dishes bar are available for the buffet at dinner time as well. I’ve never gone there for lunch but I went all out at dinner time at the Shun No Mai.
Diversity of the Japanese food selection at Shun No Mai is incredible. Everything you know about Japanese cuisine, they have it; yakitori, deep fried, Sushi, Sashimi, Tempura, grilled fish, and more. Overall quality of the food was more than satisfying, comparable to a la carte dishes at nice Japanese restaurants. The Sashimi was too good to be true. How could they serve such high quality Sashimi in a buffet. Especially the Hamachi; it was splendid. I was so impressed. They could sell it as a la carte, 5 pieces for 300 baht easily. Other selections besides the Sashimi were also great. Spectacular buffet of Shu No Mai was unreal – see the photos or go there yourself.
In terms of customer service, Shun No Mai trained their staffs well. Servers were helpful, well mannered, and kind. There was not one dish that I ordered and didn’t get. Atmosphere of Shun No Mai is not to be worried, quite nice and well deserved to be in the Thonglor area.
For the price of 800 baht approximately - considering what Shun No Mai has to offer, it was the most valuable 800 baht I have ever spent for a meal. I hope that they stay consistent with the food and the price. For all of you who love Japanese food, this is the place you can’t miss – Shun No Mai Japanese Restaurant of Thonglor.
