Sunday Jazzy Brunch - Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel on BumRes.com

To many westerners, Sunday Brunch is considered an important meal.  Sunday Brunch combines breakfast and lunch, which happens after going to a Church on every Sunday morning.  Family and friends traditionally gather to enjoy the feast together.  On the other hand, Sunday brunch is not important to Thai people because the prominent religion is Buddhism.  However, many westernized hotels in Thailand do offer this special meal.  Some even organize a special event, such as the Sunday Jazzy Brunch at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, where I am reviewing.  The hotel has three major restaurants.  On Sundays, all three will join into one event and have the line buffet set up for the brunch.  Jazz band performs to liven up the event while all parties munch the brunch joyfully.

Even though the Sheraton Grande Hotel doesn’t have any Japanese or Chinese restaurants, they still manage to accommodate all customers with the best international selection.  I didn’t take photos of all the available dishes in the line buffet but let me tell you- they had “Everything.”  The special of all must be the all you can eat Foie Gras and the open bar for cocktails.  With only these two, the money will certainly be well spent.  At any fancy restaurants, similar choices cost around 600-700 Baht.  Foie Gras that I had at this Sunday Jazzy Brunch was excellent, unlike what I had seen in other buffets.  Moreover, you will find seafood specialties such as Alaskan King Crabs, Oysters, and Mantis Shrimp.  All of them were impressive; fresh and delicious.  Even the spicy Thai seafood sauce was amazingly tasty.  The offerings at Sheraton stunned me to confusion when comparing with other hotel’s Brunch Buffet that I had experienced.

If you didn’t know about the Rossini at The Sheraton Grande, it is a famous fine Italian restaurant in Bangkok.  Italian specialties served at this brunch were absolutely spectacular.  Almost all dishes found in the regular menu can be found in the buffet.  In terms of aesthetic, self-serve plating may not match the chef’s proper presentation.  But, deliciousness didn’t lessen one bit.  One more highlight was the Pasta freshly prepared on site by the Rossini’s Head Chef.  The queue was so long, I didn’t want to wait for it.  And I didn’t want too much Carbohydrate to take place of all the pricey Protein variety such as the Lobsters and the Sashimi.

As I mentioned earlier about the free flow of Cocktails, I had a little buzz leaving the place.  The open bar was a great feature at this Brunch.  Besides the fancy Cocktails, a great selection of wines, beers, and spirits were there to keep up the energetic atmosphere for all attending parties.  We had a 50% discount card for this great brunch, so we only paid about 1,500 Baht per person.  What an awesome deal!  I personally recommend you to treat your loved ones with a great Sunday Brunch at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit.  To be sure, reserve a table beforehand because this event is a popular one.

BTW, I didn’t get a chance to try any dessert, Chinese, or Thai offerings at all. If you had the chance to try, please kindly share your thoughts.  I’d love to hear about your Brunching experience at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit.
