Kamon Japanese Restuarant at BumRes.com
Today I was at an official Japanese restaurant of the Siam City Hotel at Phaya Thai – Kamon is a long existed restaurant that must have been around for at least 30 years. With the luxurious decoration and the service girls in Kimono, the overall atmosphere was very traditional – truly eye pleasing. But, one customer had to ruin the ambiance of the Kamon. One lady was talking on the phone so loudly for a long long time – I hate having to deal with inconsiderate people. Two other parties were there too and I was sure they felt the same. Do you think the service staff should warn the lady? Difficult to say, isn’t it?
The Kamon Japanese restaurant has so many choices. For being in a hotel, price range is higher as usual but still reasonable. I planned to order the Kaisaki set. I couldn’t make up my mind because my mom didn’t want to eat much. I decided to go for the 8 picks set (1,350++) and my mom order the Grilled fish set (700+). For more details of what included in my set, please see the photos and the caption. Overall, the food was fresh and well presented. All courses came at the right timing – not too fast – not too slow.
Total damage was 2,100 baht approximately. I used the SCB beyond platinum, so I got 15% off. For this price, I could get better Japanese food from restaurants outside hotels. Coming to the Kamon was to get the feel of an experienced Japanese restaurant. This spot is more suitable for business that to enjoy great Japanese food. What do you say? Please share your thoughts.
