Since I was so impressed with my experience the Tanyamama @ Aree with my mother two weeks ago, I went there again with the 50% discount.  So I am going to review this place once more.

This time at Tanyamama was at lunch and the place was much less crowded than the previous vist, and we had the lunch menu to work with.  Among the four of us, we ordered quite a bit of food (I was sick and couldn’t handle too many dishes last visit).  The first dish was the Waffle with Green Curry (I believe this one is adapted from the Roti and Curry), which was ordinary.  The waffle was soft and sweet in which matched the green curry well.  The second was the shrimp soup.  If you remember the clam soup I had last visit; this one wasn’t as good as the clam.  Though this soup was much better than soups I had had at line buffet some place.

The next four dishes that I will review are the main dishes.  Firstly, the Lamb chop; the portion was too small.  I thought, is this baby’s ribs or what? And the presentation was unbalanced; the plate is too big and there was too much empty space on the plate.  The taste was quite basic.  Lamb didn’t have a distinct flavor and the sauce wasn’t good.  Two chunks of whatever didn’t compliment the Lamb.  So, the Lamb dish almost failed.  Next one was the Mushroom Pasta; we got a good amount of it and the taste was quite amazing.  I would consider this dish a highlight of this meal.  Then the other two dishes; the Pork chop and the Seabass was plain simple.  I have had these two plates better elsewhere.  

For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Lava, which was so sweet and tasty.  I liked the presentation, unlike the main dish that had the awkward plating.  I am not sure how good of judge I could be for this dessert but for your knowledge, I just had this similar dessert at the After You the other day.  And I must say that the Tanyamama won the fight.  Even if it’s the voice of four macho men.

So after the discount, we all split the bill and came to about 300 Baht per person.  We got a total of about 40% discount since the half off didn’t work for the drinks. Servers were taking good care of us and the atmosphere was easygoing and comfortable.  For anyone who hasn’t been here, I suggest you try it out.
