Mellow European Restaurant on BumRes.com
Honestly, I want every restaurant to score well - 10 out of 10. It is definitely better to have more perfect ten restaurants to choose from. But, I don’t give the 10 unless the place really impress me on the essential aspects that a great restaurants need to possess. At this time, there are only 10 restaurants that aced my review, out of about 600 restaurants. I must say that the Mellow @ Thonglor is one of those rare restaurants. Mellow mainly features European fusion snacks with a wonderful list of alcoholic drinks. What I like about this place must be the variety of fancy cocktail choices to enjoy in the vibrant atmosphere of young city people. This restaurant is resided within the Balcony complex, where HOBS and She Bars are at, across the street from the J-Avenue. Going Sunday through Thursday between 5-8pm, the happy hour gives you the buy one get one free (selected items) promotion.
You know me – Of course, I went there during the Happy Hour. We had a few choices of their alcoholic drinks. Variety choices were in fact, all of carefully picked to please the stylish people. About the food, Mellow @ Thonglor mainly serves all kinds European specialties, priced between 100-300 baht. Being in this neighborhood, this price is more or less reasonable. We order several dishes and all of them were delicious, some more delicious and others. Pork Chop impressed me the most, for 300 baht – see photo. Just the Pork Chop alone would be wonderful enough, but with stuffing of meat and veggies, after deep fried with crispy skin this pork chop was even more fabulous. Next appetizing menu was the Chicken Tender Tomato (220 baht), served with special fried chicken sauce. The trick was frying to excellence, with soft meat and crispy skin; I liked it. Third best was the Spicy Carbonara (220 baht), traditional carbonara sauce spiced up to excitement and served with sunny side up egg and bacon. This menu was greatly enjoyable with the beer and could also be an awesome breakfast.
Actually other food selection of this meal was all impressive but the three picks mentioned above were extraordinary and I want to recommend them to you all. Mellow is a hot spot. I went there Wednesday night and the place was packed. Don’t even talk about the weekends, I bet people are fighting over the table all evening. Well – stay up with the eating trend at Mellow @ Thonglor!
