The Antonio by Fai is an Italian restaurant located in the Soi Sawasdee Sukhumvit 31, opposite to the Sawasdee Wittaya High School.  Parking is available in front of the shop.  This is a shophouse with beautiful and elegance interior decoration which contrasted with the surrounding and the look from the outside.  Customer service staffs were kind and welcoming.  We didn’t have to wait long for the food at all.

Food selection of the Antonio Italian by Fai is minimal but inclusive of all the categories.  There are a few choices in each section; appetizers, soups, pastas, main dish, risotto, and etc.  I was shocked to see the price; much higher than I expected.  I have already typed the menu for your viewing in the tab menu as usual, please see the list and tell me what you think.  I wonder if you would agree with me that it is overpriced.

Among the three people on this visit to Antonio by Fai, we didn’t order too many dishes.  First one was the salami assortment as appetizer.  The saltiness was the charm of these meat slices but I wasn’t crazy about it.  I’d rather have Thai appetizers like the crispy fried chicken joints.  I have had the Italian salami appetizers so many times but I don’t seem to get used to it yet.  Second was the Italian fried sausage, similar to a Thai kind but more sophisticated I guess.  I liked this one more.  It was quite delicious.

Third choice was the Seafood Pasta.  I was so impressed with this menu; the taste of it was finger licking good.  Its intense flavored fresh seafood and the over flow of sauce on the al dante pasta all acted rhythmically well.  Seeing the photo of this menu made me drool; I want to have it right now.  Then, the main dish was the meat with tomato sauce.  I couldn’t remember the name but it was enjoyable at an average standard.  Our dessert was the Tiramisu, which was pretty delightful; Antonio Italian shop by Fai did a great job.

To conclude, our simple Italian meal at the Antonio by Fai was impressive, in terms of taste and service.  What seemed to be the problem was the price.  How could a shophouse charge five star hotel price.  By the way, I saw many Japanese customers so I assumed that the Antonio by Fai Italian aimed to serve the upper class.  FYI, I knew that there was another Antonio in the Sukhumvit 33 so I asked the servers about it.  And they saidd that the issue is being settled in court right now for the right to have the name Antonio.  It looks I have to be the judge myself.  Whoever serves the best Italian food should earn the name Antonio.  So, follow an update from us once we review the other Antonio.  This one is Antonio by Fai though, why would there be a fight over the name.
