A good friend of mine who lives in the Sathorn area recommended the Pandanus as a neighborhood favorite.  I was running errands in this area so I had to check it out.  The Pandanus is in the Soi Sathorn 1, which can be accessed from Soi Sathorn 1 or Soi Ngamduplee.  Availability for parking is limited.  There is no assigned area for the restaurant, so you have you find curbside parking.  I didn’t have any problem since I was there around two o’clock in the afternoon.

The food of Pandanus is Italian with a fusion of Thai (I guessed).  Atmosphere of the place was simple and classy; beautiful enough to offer the pricey food (for me).  Small selection in the menu mainly comprised of European, Italian, and a little bit of Thai dishes.  To my surprise, 17% of VAT + Service charge wasn’t stated anywhere in the menu.  I was happy at first when I didn’t see the notice because I was already stunned by the menu prices.

Since I was at the Pandanus by myself, I only ordered two dishes.  First was the Baked spinach and cheese; served in a compact size that wasn’t worth the value (for this price, I could get three times the amount elsewhere).  The quantity was minimal but the quality was extremely high and very delicious.  It must be the best baked spinach and cheese I had ever had.  My friend recommended the Fettuccini with river prawn and it was my choice as the main dish.  The food was slow though for having only two tables in the restaurant.  It was worth the wait; this Fettuccini’s presentation was magnificent.  Two large river prawns were on top of the Pasta with other fancy plating elements.  For the appearance I’d give a perfect ten but for the deliciousness, I’d only give 8/10; it wasn’t noticeably delicious.

My late lunch cost me 800 Baht.  Mineral water of Pandanus was 50++ Baht.  I thought to myself; there goes my toll way fee to get home.  I shouldn’t have ordered it.  The server already served free water at first too.  Pandanus had a great atmosphere, perfect for romantic couples.  They also had great wine selection to pair with the classy food.  My only problem was the price; too expensive (for me).
